THE FAMILY (100 word story)

Frankie studied the faces of his companions around the table. Just one more acquisition and he would be triumphant. He would have everything.

Across the table sat Luigi, His dark, menacing features revealing nothing. A dangerous adversary. To his left sat Mario, a younger version of Luigi, but no less dangerous. Definitely, someone to watch closely.

To his right the lovely Carla. He had known her all his life, but when the chips were down could he trust her?

Frankie licked his dry lips and swallowed nervously.

Here goes then he thought.

‘Mum, have you got Mr. Bun, the Baker?’
